2012 Aquaponics Shop Commercial System in NSW

Just to let you all know we are currently in the process of building a new Commercial Aquaponics system for a client in NSW. I will put up some progress photos and general information as we go. After it is completed I am thinking of running a Commercial Aquaponics workshop on site (I put one together in 2009). Anyway, for now the products are being order and coming in.

Some points of interest (I hope).

    1. We have designed a special grow tunnel which is also available in smaller sizes for yard systems. The tunnel is nearly finished being manufactured and I will put up photos when we put it up. For now I added some the sketches. Details for it can be found at our website http://www.aquaponics-shop.com/aquap...hop/19/cat/25/

    2. We do not use the old fashioned clarifiers etc (which are messy and bulky) but rather we have introduced a fantastic German made modular filtration system which we have specifically specified for the job. To my knowledge we are the first people to design such filters into a commercial sized Aquaponics system. Filters are important in all systems but even more so in commercial systems. Our filter designs effectively remove larger solids and aid in the conversion of Ammonia to Nitrate (via Nitrite of course). Best of all they are easy to manage and clean. We can add beneficial bacteria with ease and control effluent output without ever getting wet.

Anyway, stay tuned and I will be happy to keep you all updated.

    Cheers

    Martin

    Hi Gary,

Just a quick update. The shelter, most of the equipment and all the pipe and fittings are going down to the site this weekend. We are still waiting for council approvals to start the build. Fisheries have given their approvals already. As soon as we start the build I will post more.

    Cheers

    Hi All,

A brief update. DA approvals finally came through. I have some pictures of the structure on our website (http://www.aquaponics-shop.com/shelt...ms/gallery/46/) and I will post some more here in a few days.

I am presently installing the system inside the shelter and I hope to have it finished by mid-next week. The new grow beds are coming together well and the filters look really good. At the moment we have most of the grow beds together, most of the items "in place" and some of the piping connected. The beds still need to be welded together (I hope to have that done in the next couple of days) and the majority of the piping needs to be connected ... more to follow.

    Cheers

    Martin

    Hi Dunbyu,

Last time I checked, Martin was on his way to Hong Kong.

The NSW build can't be far away.......I think Martin's completed his bit.

What is the projected lifespan of the shelter material?

What kind of warranties come with it (customer installed/versus authorised distributor installation)

Any plans for a taller/wider version? (bit concerned about height rest looks great though).

    Hi Dean,

I've emailed Martin alerting him to your question. At the moment, he spends most of his time in Asia.
