    Re: Port-a-ble Wicking Beds

    Thank you Gary.
It's very hot last 20 and so days. Around 40 C ( 104 F) ,never below 37 C. Prognoses is that will stay around 40 to the end of August. Water in tank ( in shade) 30-35 C ( 86-95 F).
Two months in winter was around -20 C ( - 4 F) and two months in summer is this. Soil temp in WB 26 C (from watering tank , I guess).
My next WB will from IBC surrounded by Styrofoam ( I didn't see anybody do that, I don't know why?).
Need to transfer idea from brain to paper.

    Hi Caca,

    That's a crazy temperature range.......-20 degrees C to 40 degrees C......a swing of 60 degrees.

My next WB will from IBC surrounded by Styrofoam ( I didn't see anybody do that, I don't know why?).
Need to transfer idea from brain to paper.
I think a sun-facing greenhouse (with a rocket thermal mass heater) would be a good way to mitigate against the very low temperatures.

That Latitude 45 North. Line between worm and cold climate.
I do some research Gary, most successful AP members of this forum are between 15- 35 Latitude North and 15-35 Latitude South.

You are right. I'm like more passive solar GH and Russian Stove (I have one in my living room).Stove can heat 100 m2 to 25 C all month with 3 m3 of hard wood (oak) on - 15 C. And you can heat 2 separate rooms with one stove (GH and indoor FT).

    Re: Port-a-ble Wicking Beds

    Hi Caca,

I assume that's just a solid fuel heater that relies on the masonry part of it retaining heat......and radiating it out into the room...right?
