That is looking good![]()
Added a 200ltr swirl filter to one of the beds. Its made from an olive drum so I can keep it under pressure. Was thinking of an open one but it would have to be 5mtrs high to keep the pressure in the system. Got enough stuff to make another 4. Didn't use the large one because I like to keep the pressure in the 2in main line for the GB's.
Also put a T on one of the outlets with a 40mm pipe going to the bottom of the pool with a right angle at the base. With the open 40mm top it still manages to suck air to the bottom and stir things up. Will see how it goes.
Got a pic of the swirl filter. Going to make a larger one. Something that I can have the 10000ltr per hr pumping into. Looking at small tanks. I've got a large swirl filter but it does not have a top and I want this one to be pressurized.
New fish. Its going into the large swirl filter.
Another 200ltr swirl filter installed today. Thinking that it might be easier to install a few of these and tackle a larger one later.
Haven't seen George since he went into the swirl filter with 4 air stones. But the crickets I usually clean out of there every day have disappeared.
Seedlings are coming up in the new GB's but I still need a lot more plants.
That be nitrate
You wont need any seasol.
Installed a 90mm diverter for the down pipe to the shed. This will allow for adding water and flushing the system a little every now and then. To help with the cycling I dropped the water level a half meter. This will allow me to bring it back up without having to deal with de gassing all the chlorine.
This is the diverter. The other pic is of a 90mm PCV pipe I dropped inside my current siphon chamber. It allows the GB's to work with less flow. I use a 10000ltr per hr pump and have the GB's filling in 5min draining in less than 2min. But as I add more GB's and don't need the bacteria to work as hard when the system matures this way I can cut back on the flow without having any problems with the siphons. And if I need the high turn over later I just take it out and kick the pump up a notch.
