    Re: Size of root

    Hi again Caca
I pick beetween plants I "like" that suits the climate. (The Microclimate).
Ask localy iff you'r new to gardening/farming, start with the "easyest" of your choise, small crops, extend the season in each end.
That way it not such a struggel, you'll sucseed faster and as you gain the knoledge/experience lift the chalenge.
Straberrys and bluberrys is a easy and sure winner, herbs as well.

    cheers

    Hi Caca,

Root length seems to be influenced by many things.....including nutrient availability, growing system (DWC/NFT/F&D), age of the plant, etc.

If you plant parsley, for example, and harvest it within weeks, you'll have a very modest set of roots. If you pull the plant out after two seasons, its roots will have spread throughout the entire grow bed.

Tomatoes can grow a very large root mass in a grow bed......but will have much smaller roots if grown in NFT.
