I found a source of 50 gallon steel drums for sale ($10)...They contained apple cider (food grade) and such have what appears to be a painted lining...
Thoughts of using them in aquaponics???

i've seen something similar here in the states.. i'd be worried a little about the liner after cutting.. but you should be able to seal the metal where you cut it..
might be kinda hard to cut and drill.. but i imagine they'd work
Whenever I see steel drums, and they are all over the place around here, all I think of them containing aviation fuel (av gas). I've never heard of them used for food before, normally food products are shipped in totes (IBC). One thing I'd keep in mind is coating have a finite life span. I would recommend inspecting it very well before use and either annually or bi-annually.
