Hi,
While drifting through some posts on BYAP, I came across these plastic grow beds.
They are a good size and are (compared to many of the alternatives) a good price.

Hi Gary,
Do you recommend the 200gal one over the 250gal one? I've been designing our greenhouse based on the 250gal specs but it seems the white 200gal one is much stronger.
Hi ET,
I haven't seen either size up close......they're not available in Australia.
They are obviously part of a spill containment set up. I'd probably opt for the one that is the most robust.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the heads up. I'll get a couple and try them out!

I called about shipping to southeast Texas and for 5 of the 200 gallon ones it will be over a thousand dollars for S&H. Apparently they're manufactured in Ohio. The 250 gallon ones would be 250 dollars S&H for 5, and they're in Texas. Don't know if this is relevant to anyone else, just thought I'd post my findings...
that 250 gallon one is a nice one. I have gotten used to the plastic mixing tubs they sell at lowes in Texas. The 3 ft x 2 ft by 8" high is ~ $14. It would take 7 of them to equal the square foot growing area of 1 of the 250 gallon tanks. But they do last and if a problem occured in one it would be easy to take one off line and fix if you work by yourself. Having had to reconfigure a 30' x 13' greenhouse with 4x8 growbeds made from plywood a year ago was not an easy task. Big growbeds do make plumbing much easier though. Food for thought.
Knowledge comes from books and classes...Wisdom comes from surviving mistakes not taught in either.
Ravnis- I like those tubs too, just don't try to move them when they're full...yeah I'm an idiot.![]()
