New Toy.

With a couple of my Uncles coming up from the Coast yesterday, I had to make an early morning trip to the Green Grocer's for some additional vegies for lunch.

Of course that trip gave me the perfect excuse to make a little extra stop & also bring back a prezzie for myself....errrr....I mean for the whole family !


.....24 hours later....& I can still see my Wife rolling her eyes as she caught me smuggling yet another box out of the back of the wagon and around the backyard.

But anyhoo !....later in the day, with my Uncles off on their way homebound in the late arvo....it was time to unpack, grab a screwdriver & an AFS....as well as fend off the unwanted little helpers and retrieve various parts from them in the sandpit.



Assembly was easy peasey !....it only took me one beer.




& in no time at all it was chuffin' away.






....only mistake I made was....not taking the washing off the clothes line first !

My smoker is one of the Aldi ones....if I get 1/2 as much use out of it as the el cheapo Kettle BBQ I bought from Aldi 3 years ago (& still going strong) then I'll be very pleased.

Was hoping to give it a workout this coming weekend,
But instead, I'm back to working 7 days a week until probably Christmas

So I'll fire it up first chance I get over the break,
& post what I cook & smoke in it in the recipe section of the forum.

More importantly, did you recover from the shelacking you received after smoking out the clothes line, or is working 7 days a week till Christmas the pennants you have to do..

BigDaddy & Pugo,

Still working 7 days a week unfortunately, & will be up until Christmas eve.
Will only be getting a small amount of time off over the break as I'll be busy shifting into new work digs (not looking forward to the moving equipment part of that)

I'll be sure to give the smoker a whirl on the days I get off though,
& yes....I'll post pics of what I cook/smoke in it.
Which reminds me...the Missus still doesn't know about the spit I bought thats still in the shed in its box
