    Single Barrel System

I am planning a small, single barrel system. I cut the top 3rd off, to use as my growbed and I will use the bottom 2/3rds for my fish when I get the system going.

I want to put it on my screened in back porch, BUT I understand no bees will get to the flowers. So I may just put it to the side of the house and place a small wire net over the barrel to protect the fish.

I'll just use a loop siphon, a timer and a pump.

I just have it cut and I'll be able to post pics soon.

Are you doing it similar to Affnan's single barrel system, if so make sure you dont cut the rim because the barrel will lose it's structural integrity.

Sort of like Affnan's but with only one grow bed. I may then build a frame for the GB on top of the shelf that will support the thing. So yeah!

I'm going to put this on the outside of my porch becuase it is screened in and I don't know how the flowers will get pollinated without the bees.

I was going to copy affnans pvc bell siphon.
    The pump thing confuses me.

Just successfully tested my bell siphon. Thank you Affnan!
I had to shave a quarter of an inch off the standpipe but other than that....score!

Time to wash the pea and river gravel off and make my GB stand.

Looks great so far. I am sure there are other insects that will gladly help out with polinating inside the screened porch.

Hmmmm... didn't think about that. really the only thing I've seen in the porch were spiders.
The GB stand is almost completed, I just have to get a few more slats to put in. Then I will set it in place and take some pics!
