    Question on O2

I read on a aquaculture site a while ago that 02 is absorbed faster into water if the water is under preasure. How is this done? They only way I can think of is if you pump the water up a pipe to certain hight and then bubble air in from the base near the pump.

Matt to get water to pick up exter oxygen you will need to have both under pressure ie there needs a tap on the outlet so the length of pipe is under pressure then you will need pressure regs on both ,To much trouble ,just pump the water in the air and let it fall to the fish tank or stick in a few air stones most aquariam pumps use very little power and run 4 air stones
If its free pick it up

    Re: Question on O2

I guess that would work Matt, but plenty of air form a good bubbler works just fine.
I first used an old 14cfm compressor I had to supply air to my fish. I now use a couple of $49.00 air pumps (9 l per m) each. The water is already well oxygenated by the action of the return water coming back from the grow beds, but it is best to put plenty of air in there.
