Hi Murray,

Is it possible to enforce users to show their suburb AND state OR country in their location reference?

It is interesting for one and useful in terms of context when reviewing posts from people if you know what sate or Country they are posting from.

Note sure if you do this when you activate the user accounts or whether it is self registering?

Just a thought and not a big deal... the last thing I want to do for you is create more admin

Hi Martin,
It is required to fill in the fields re location etc.
I do check an applicants claimed country against their IP address. If they do not match I just delete the applicant. Sorry, It seems a bit tough, but that is what happens.

We did not require these fields (Town, country) in the beginning, so some early registrations do not have this info filled in.
Actually, there is a very large proportion of members that use their actual name as their user name, which is a very good thing I think.
I reckon it is only being honest.
We have the membership list hidden from all, even the admin. We do this to help protect our members privacy.
Some people are obsessed with disguising their identity. I can't understand that really.
Generally, I have observed, particularly on many of the other forums I have been a member of, that those who wish to conceal their identity are those who are given over to rude and bad behaviour.
It is easy to be rude when you are anonymous.

As you point out, it is very helpful to know the town or suburb of a member. It is very useful to be able to visit with fellow local aquaponists. We can learn much from each other.
Also weather conditions for a particular area will often be a crucial piece of info when a member is asking for advice.

Hi Murry,

Great work, I am very new with a tiny system I built for $50.00. The fish tank is only 60 litres. This is an amazingly simple way way to self produce, your hard work, commitment and generosity is staggering.
I have looked and may have missed the forum that will get me together with other AP's in my area. Could you please point me in the right direction or start a new thread to find locals so us beginners can learn more first hand?
