    What kind of timer?

I've looked around but can't really find what I'm looking for. What kind of timer can I get so I can run my pump for a few mins. then off for a few. I can only find the ones that start and stop at a certain time.

    Thanks Sean

    Re: What kind of timer?

The most common and least costly timers are going to be 24 hour timers. The mechanical ones let you set an increment on or off around the clock. many people use the ones that do 15 minute increments so they can run the pump for 15 minutes to flood the beds and then leave it off for say 45 minutes to let them drain.

If you go with a digital timer, you will probably be able to set much smaller on time but most digital timers only give you so many on/off cycles in a 24 hour period, the best I've found there was 14 on/off cycles (they will probably call it 28 programs though.)

Now if what you want is a timer that will turn the pump on for say 8 minutes and then off for say 15 minutes and repeat over and over. You are looking for a repeat cycle timer. These generally cost a lot more but can be found. I suggest searching hydroponic sites.
