    Smile Lead free PVC

    Hi all,

    FYI.

Received the following info from Ivan Jukic, Business Development Engineer at Vinidex.

Currently there is an industry commitment to move away from any lead additives in PVC and Vinidex has already commenced this process and will have all PVC off lead by the end of this year.

You need to wait till the new year to be absolutely sure it is on the new formulations – you can check by the date stamp on the pipe eg 080103 = 3rd of January 2008.

At present any PVC pipe for drinking water has to be to AS/NZS 1477 standard which is lead free.

    Regards

    Jonty

    Re: Lead free PVC

I checked with Reece yesterday re the lead free and they confirmed that soon all PVC stormwater pipe will be lead free. Costs a bit more, but that does not matter really.
