    Australian Wildlife

    Hi,

Jan and I were moving rocks in the backyard today when we disturbed this bloke.

For the benefit of our International members, it's an Eastern Bluetongue lizard. They are commonly found in urban backyards.

    Hi Jan and Gary,
I'd say that's Gary holding the lizard and not Jan?? It is a lovely healthy looking lizard. Speaking of wildlife, as I am sitting here I am being seranaded by a bush canary, it's a nondescript little bird with the most heavenly song. I haven't heard him for a while (been away most days). I just got home from Chinchilla and he hasn't stopped singing. It really gladdens the heart to hear him sing.

    Hi Ann,

Yep, it's me holding the lizard.

Jan is the one holding the camera so tenuously that we had to take about 25 shots before I could find one without camera shake......and yelling stuff like "Get that ****** thing away from me."
