    plant spacing

    hi people antoher silly q for you all how do u lot determine the plant spacing for your systems. do u use the quare foot method or use other rules ?

    Zacti have found with ap the neuts are delivered to the plant so i use the 6 in method or as close as you like this whole thing is a learning curve
    If its free pick it up

    I find I have to mix it up a bit, for example cabbages. I plant them about 300mm apart, if I don't they get too crowed as they grow. Lettuce on the other hand can be 150mm apart.
    I tend to not plant too much of the one thing in the one place now. A couple of cabbage, and a couple of lettuce and so on.

    I have some pretty big eggplant bushes right now.
    I do not grow zucchini anymore in my AP system, the bushes just get too big and there is too much of a loss of growing space.
    That is part of the reason why I have moved my tomatoes to the western end of the growing area. Last season the went so well, I had them suspended on ropes all across the ceiling of the greenhouse. They blocked the light to the grow beds and I found I could not grow much in the grow beds because of that. Runaway tomatoes.........
