    Hi Crusty,

I'll try to take a couple of more photos soon(in the next day or so), but for now,if you go to post #4 on this thread, the first picture,is a picture of my barra tank now, if you pan left,I have a 1000 litre grow bed roughly 1800mm X 1200mm X 300mm,Sort of to the left of picture but off it.On top of the barra tank you can see two 25 mm pvc pipes, one is a delivery pipe, which delivers nutrient to the opposite end of the grow bed to the drain, the other is the drain 40 mm with a 40 mm ball valve, reduced to a 25mm pipe. The bottom of the grow bed is about 100mm or so higher than the top of the fish tank. The media is 20mm white cottage pebbles.I also have a couple thousand worms in the grow bed,but I haven't seen them since I put them in.

6000 litres per hour pump max 99 watts, controlled by a float switch and stand pipe timer setup for memory, the pump operates 2 3 or 4 times an hour for a few minutes each hour, fast fill slow drain. I have 1 500 litre fish tank with 2 300 watt draeger(I think it is) aquarium heaters and a two line air pump operating 2 150mm air discs. In the grow bed,I have, spinach, broccoli, Chinese cabbage,a curry tree, rosemary,a strawberry bush, and chillis. All doing well.I have 20 barra looking good, can't wait till Christmas, some barra on the barbie sounds pretty good to me.

    Cheers.

    Hi mate.

I can not quite make out how the flow of the system works. I will wait for more photos, when you have a chance.

    Hi Crusty,

Cant do photo's just yet(no time yet)probably Monday.I think I may have confused things. The first photo is a photo of my barra tank which is completely different to my trout tank and grow beds, the trout tank is on the opposite side of my property, which feeds all the grow bed bays in the photo's on post #4,the first photo(barra tank) is on a completely different system to all the other photo's on this post. The far right picture is the trout tank, which feeds a 19mm poly delivery pipe, to the first bay which is the picture next on the left of that, with expanded clay top dressing, the water then fills and moves around 45 degrees to the next two bays(bay 2 and bay 3)and out through a bell siphon in bay three.

A 40mm drain flows under the grow beds, around the corner via a 45 degree bend and a length of straight behind the barbie, and back to the fish tank.

Hope this has cleared things up a bit.

    Cheers.

    Re: Bigdaddy's Barramundi

Hi Crusty here are some photos of my new trout system,

Photo 1 is the fish tank with 18 trout in it with two 150mm air discs and a 300 litre per hour pump pumping constantly to the grow bed.

Photo 3 is the Barbie where the 19mm delivery pipe goes behind and around to What I call bay 1 of the grow bed,the 40mm drain pipe comes from under my grow bed behind the barbie and back to the fish tank.

Photo 2 is what I call bay 1 of the grow bed (I have a long skinny about 700 litre grow bed that I identify areas by calling them bay 1,2&3.)Bay 1 is top dressed with expanded clay and the whole grow bed has charcoal down the bottom and throughout it,and 20 mm cottage pebbles in it.

Photo 4 is bay 3,which has a bell siphon in it draining through a 40mm drain running under the grow bed and back to the fish tank

Photo 5 is bay 2 which has a bell siphon in it draining through a 40mm drain running under the grow bed and back to the fish tank.

    Cheers.

    Re: Bigdaddy's Barramundi

Here are some photos of my barra system,

Photo 1 is a side picture of my barra tank ,same set up as my trout tank but with a 6000 litre per hour pump normally off operated by a float switch, coming from a 40mm drain reduced to 25mm at the tank, 2 150mm air discs,2 300 watt and Draeger aquarium heaters.you can see 2 25mm pipes going to and from the grow bed one is a delivery pipe going to the back of the grow bed and on is a drain coming from the front of the grow bed to the fish tank.

Photo 2 is a picture of my approx `1000litre grow bed with 20mm cottage pebbles, which has a stand pipe and timer setup.

Photo 3 is a photo of my Trout grow bed taken near the barra grow bed but they are not joined.

Photo 4 is just a photo of my grow bed.

Photo 5 is a photo of my side of the grow bed probably 1200 high from where I am standing,I just dont have enough height to put a swirl filter in her next to the fish tank.

    Cheers.
