    Hi Lobitonomada,

    Welcome to APHQ.

That's looking great.......I think 8' x 4' is an excellent size for grow beds.

    Aloha all!!!
The GBs are made out of 2x4s, treated 3/8 plywood, some waterproof wood glue and screws, and HPDE Liner, very simple and strong easy to build.
I can perfectly fit 4x8 Styrofoam sheets in the troughs, I just cut them to 2x4 pieces for easy handling.
If interested I can send you a diagram on how to do it....Just PM me.

Looks cool Brah! I got a sytem set up that's pretty similar to yours but it's about half the size. I also built a bio-filter with a mechanical filter (all real simple back yard kinda stuff) to "clean" the water a little before entering the grow box.

I'd suggest you start the system off by first putting a few small fish in the tank before putting in lots of fish and the plants. You'll have to build up the bacteria to handle the waste so that the fish don't get stressed out and it'll also help you plants out too. And as for the plants, I'd also suggest something real simple like lettuce to start with until the system has really started running for awhile and has stabilized.

    Take it easy Brah!

    Thank you for the input.
So far everything looks great, my fish are very happy the water is clear and the plants are thriving.
This are the latest pics of my system, I will be expanding very soon and maybe go commercial.

    Thank You.[/QUOTE]

    Hi lobitonomada,

What sort of plants are you growing on the rafts?
