Thread: Marburg Commercial System

    Re: Marburg Commercial System

I have to correct myself. I found further information that suggests a 180grams of feed per day per m2 of polystyrene raft. This changes the equation which I have done below based on commercial barramundi feed.

So the other numbers must relate to plant nutrient requirements for the UVI.

Back to Marburg. The biofilm on the rafts will deal with 5.1kg feed per day total. If the feed rate is 2% (varies on age) the total fish weight for the system is 255kg (25kg/m3). Still a long way from a commercial environment.

Keep in mind this is based on the information provided and the research conducted on the UVI system using formulas the designer of the UVI will have used.

    Hi Paul,

I think it is great people are having a go at commercial aquaponics. Every time I inquire about the input and output calculations, I am met with vague generalizations. To this day, I can not figure out why...
It's been several months since I had a lot to do with the Marburg project and I had little to do with determining the stocking density when I did.

I'll see what I can find out.

    Hi Blayke,

We experienced a glitch when we upgraded the forum. We think a fix is imminent.

Do you have commercial aquaponics experience?
