    Square watermelons

    Hi all,

A friend sent me these pics. I haven't made up my mind as yet - clever idea or just manipulation of our food?

    Square Watermelons
A round watermelon can take up a lot of room in a refrigerator and the
usually round fruit often sits awkwardly on refrigerator shelves.

Smart Japanese Farmers have forced their watermelons to grow into a square
shape by inserting the melons into square, tempered glass cases while the
fruit is still growing on the vine.

Don't have a pic, but I have been making cubed poached/boiled eggs for years! Just break into a large ice cube tray in the pan of boiling water. Have got a heart shaped poacher for the Microwave as well, comes in handy when making up to "her indoors"!!
The Grandkids love em and you don't have to use an egg cup!, just sit em on the toast.

If you don't break the rules . . . there would be no such thing as innovation!

Seems clever to me. Disney World has been doing it with tomatoes for years in the shape of Mickey Mouse.
In the immortal words of Socrates...I drank what?
