    pond setup

    hi there
    i'm totally new at aquaponics
im trying to set up a pond with some reeds and a waterfall i want to have gold fish in the pond as well
i have been looking for some pumps and i found these in a aquaholics store on ebay
    Pond Pumps
they are unistar pond pumps they look to be the same as Resun King 6F Fountain and Waterfall Pump
my pond will be around the 2000 liter size which size pump would be the best for me i want to run it over a waterfall about 1 meter high
are these unistar pumps any good they seem really cheap and have 2 years warranty and i have seen the same ones but resun in the shops for more than twice the price these guys sell them for
anyway here is a link to the ebay store any help would be apprectiated

    Hi Fishy,

the size of pump u should need would be the 3500lt/hour from the info u have given but the quality I'm not sure on but with a 2 year warranty sounds like a good buy.

at 1 metre head you should still be able to turn the water volume over in under 1 hr which is standard rule of thumb

Hello Fishy, are you going to add Growbeds or Channels for growing Vegi's or just doing the Pond for the Reeds and goldfish?

I'm also in Brisbane and have an 8,000 litre pond. Lots of planning needs to be done before you create your masterpeice. Even now after a Year from digging the first hole I find the information I have learnt from Aquaponics has shown me that I need to re-design the place I have built my filter and the addiction of wanting to grow more and more has led to many changes around the pond.

    Hi Fishy

Murray sells a nifty pump with a grill on the inlet which is very easy to clean by simply flicking a lever. Pity I had already bought my pump when I saw his.
