Iain,
I am in Kingaroy and have a 1000l tank and am only just starting out made the system out of ag tanks and troughs and have 100 silver perch fingerlings in the 400l sump tank. Also battling the cold trying to keep them alive and feeding. Hopefully soon the temperature will pick up. I thought about trout, maybe next year before winter sets in with a bit of experience first.

Hi Engel,
You won't be able to get trout in Queensland as things currently stand.

Hello All
Greetings from Narre Warren North Victoria. I have a 1750 litre drinking trough dug into the ground acting as a sump/fish tank. There are 60 silver perch who are starting to grow as the weather is now getting warmer. In the circuit I have installed a CHOP 690 litre drinking trough for fingerlings. (currently not in use) For filtration I have a 300 litre swirl tank and a bath tub set up as a trickling filter. I have 3 1200mm x 2400mm grow beds attached. One is filled with river gravel topped with clay, the other two are set up with floating rafts. I am running two 3500 litre per hour pumps as well as a 30 watt aerator for the floating raft beds. The fish are healthy and very shy, plant growth has been slow although a good crop of snow peas has been produced.
Update:
Second tank is set up and both tanks now have separate tanks for the RBC's. So I now have to tank set ups and RBC with a total number of gallons for each about 500 gallons.
My aquaculture well pump stopped working this fall. However it's not needed as I am using the household well for the RAS' so I told the well driller to come out when he's in the area. Hopefully the pump didn't actually fail and it's a broken wire at the pump connection. I've heard that happens.
i am in western Australia
