    Hot summer / cold winter

Last weekend I bit the bullet and ordered my AP kit. Murray you should have the order from Kevin at the Rose Garden there, put a fast track on it if you can!

Living in NW QLD, the summer up here is pretty warm (45 deg for 3 months) and its getting quite cool at the moment (7 - 10 deg overnight).

I'm planning on going to catch some bait fish out at the lake to get the system going. They only grow to around 10cm, so may end up in the blender and then as a plant supplement when the good fish arrive.

What kind of fish would be best suited to both extremes of temperature?

    Cheers

    Ben

Similar to Kalgoorlie, except more humid....

My water temps hit 28 on 45 deg days, but I get it back to 22-24 over night. I never actually got enough heat in the water to run barra, but I think you might be able to, you'd have warmer nights in summer?

I run Silver Perch year round, but they dont grow from April to October really. I have Trout for that period, in a seperate tank.

Jades are probably a good year round option for you.
    Fish Grown Out - 45 Rainbow Trout, 500 - 820g each.
Fish In Tank - 0 Black Bream, 800 Silver Perch, 150 Rainbow Trout.

I would definitely run with Jade Perch...hard to beat.
Barra when you get a bit of experience behind you, but as an all round good fish to raise and eat Jade Perch are it.......
