Water Hardness.
This post/thread has been started on behalf of a new member (Hogan) who is new to Forums and was not sure how to get a new thread going.

Hogan's question,
I have read with great interest a post on water hardness and fish health. Do you know the best way to design a buffering recipe to match plant need with fish health? for example if your water is low in hardness and needs buffering for fish health what is the best way to add buffers that suit plant requirements. I imagine sodium is based buffers are not particularly useful in a plant system?

A friend of mine swears by using old plaster. Limestone is probably a good option too.

Re: Water Hardness.
Sometimes it seems like people arrive here with all sorts of previous knowledge and experience, but nobody really seems to say where they have come from or list where they have been?
Must be missing something. Where is the thread and previous discussion on water hardness?
I've read (googled) some articles in relation to water hardness in relation to aquariums. Where is everyone sourcing their questions from?
