I just received and watched Murray's aquaponics DVD and it was great. Very informative and well put together!

I am interested in the 'Balcony Aquaponics Kit - Compact three grow bed Complete kit.' as a starter.

I was wondering what fish you would recommend for Sydney's climate?

In the DVD the installation example was of one grow bed (directly on top of the tank), with three growbeds I assume it would just mean a longer pipe outlet to the tank for the growbeds not directly above the tank?

Also is it possible to upgrade the grow beds from 250l to 585l with this system? (of course with additional cost)

Hi Citroen,

Silver perch are great to start with as they are a hardy fish that will handle the cool winter and the warm summer. They are readily available all up and down the east coast of Australia.
A number of the members from Victoria raise Trout during the winter and Barra during the summer.....something to look forward to next summer.

The 3 bed balcony kit comes complete with the pipe work and fittings to fit the two beds, one on each side.
The ultimate Balcony kit is the Maximus. It has two large 585 ltr grow beds, one each side.
