This forum exists to promote interest in Aquaponics and related matters.
Contributions to the forum are very welcome.
Our experience of other forums is that unless they are regulated in some way, they begin to accumulate a significant amount of inane comment or irrelevant banter.
As such forums grow, finding useful information in the midst of such clutter becomes difficult and time-consuming. Regrettably, this often causes the most committed contributors to desert the forum to the ultimate detriment of the broader membership.
If you have had experience of other forums, you may notice some differences in this one. For a start, we don't list the number of posts that each member makes and we don't categorise members (with titles like Newbie, Senior Member, Legend, etc) according to the number of posts that they make. Our experience is that this encourages quantity rather than quality......and we're about quality. At this stage, we haven't appointed Moderators for the forum. When (and if) we do, we'll appoint Moderators based on who makes the most valuable contribution rather than who makes the most posts.
The following simple guidelines are designed to encourage full and frank discussion of Aquaponics and related matters while ensuring that members can access information in a timely manner.
This discussion forum is reserved for the use of Aquaponics HQ members however, guests are welcome to view the active threads from the home page in order to get a sense of what happens on a day-to-day basis.
- Do not post to your own threads unless you are making a real update or you have a question or a request for assistance from the forum.
- Do not post to other threads unless your comment is relevant to the topic.
- Where you simply wish to agree with the position or information in a posting, we encourage you to use PM – that’s what it’s there for. Of course, If you have a contrary view or you wish to add further information by all means make a post. Our intention is not to stifle debate or to limit information in any way but rather to ensure that the forum remains both relevant and useful.
- As the site grows, newcomers will inevitably ask questions that have been answered in previous posts. Rather than answer such questions over and over, existing members should use links to refer the newcomer to what they need to know and to encourage their use of the Search facility.
- Monitor your own threads with reasonable diligence. How you behave in your own thread will largely determine how others will behave.
Membership of Aquaponics HQ is FREE.
