    Meat slicer.

    Hi,

For those of you in Australia who have a local Aldi store,
This coming Saturday (7th July) Aldi has a meat slicer as one of its special buys.

I'm going to grab one....then have a crack at making some home-made bacon, pastrami etc.

    Meat slicer link...http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_22522.htm
    Cheers,
    Shane.

Wow! That's a handy kitchen gadget. Wish I was home. Do you think there'll be any left by Mid August?

Aldi seem to get in a pallet load each of all their special buys (at least they do at my local store).
As to how long they last ?....well that all depends on that particular item & the publics thirst for it
Sometimes Dave, theres 1/2 a pallet load left several days later.
Other times when they have in BBQ's, kids bikes, etc. everything can go in the first few minutes after opening.

Ha ha! and that's not all.... he'd get the set of steak knives, the miracle egg slicer, the supa whisk, the easy clean egg rings . . . and at no extra cost . . . half a kilo of free packaging materials!

    Re: Meat slicer.

Well....I did end up picking one of these slicers up the other week,
Been busy lately, so I only got it out of the box last night.

    It works fine,
Its definitely not what you'd use in a commercial business.
But, for someone like myself who'll only use a slicer like this probably once a fortnight....its more than adequate.

First up use for this slicer....will be when I have a go at making my own home-made pastrami sometime in the next couple of weeks.
    Cheers,
    Shane.
