I will be picking up more material for the system I am planning, and would love a few pointers. My plan is to use 100mm pipe, 1meter long x12, filled with gravel as the only grow beds. I have not found another system that didn't also include "normal" beds, and got to wondering if maybe there is a reason? I really like the concept of going vertical to save space, and will be happy to experiment for some time to get this to work, but if anyone has some experience, and would be willing to share, that would be fantastic.

I will start with goldfish in the tank as they are super cheap in bulk, and don't really care what I grow while in the "proof of concept" phase, but would like to produce food at some point. Any advise on plant and fish type is welcome. I am thinking strawberries and catfish, but if others would work better, great.

I have about 7 months before my garden is done producing, so I hope to have something up and producing well by then.

thanks,
