hi all
we are 2 friends who just finished setting up our system. the time for the fish and plants is about to come and we are interesting in growing tilapia. in order to do that we will need all the important information anyone can think of.
thank you

first thing to do is make sure they are legal to possess and raise where you live as they are illegal or controlled in a lot of spaces. The other thing is make sure your water temps will stay high enough, they will die below 11 oC.

hi ravnis
we are from israel and tilapia are perfectly legal here. weather is on our side as well except a few cold winter nights.
we'r having 1500 liter fish tank and 3*300 liter grow beds. what would you think the fish density we should start with?

Start with 1 pound of fish per 2 gallons of water. If you can supply enough filtration and oxygen you can go to 1 pound of fish per one gallon. Watch your water parameters closely.

We have a wealth of scientific journal articles (I have access to a college database), I can pull up any journal article you are interested in. Let me know what exactly you are looking for and I can find you a relevant article. I will post a couple here to see if it sparks your interest.
If you looking for exclusive tilapia hybrids we can also help you there.
