Hi,

On Saturday 28th March, Martin O'Dee (www.aquaponics.asia) and myself will conduct a one day "Aquaponics at Home" seminar in Brisbane.

If you are interested in doing Aquaponics at your home then this is the seminar for you.

The seminar is designed to cover the basics of Aquaponics as it applies to the home users. You do not need any previous experience with Aquaponics to attend this seminar.

If you do not have a home system yet but are planning on building one then this seminar will be an invaluable help to you.

We have tried to cover the most commonly asked questions by people who are either doing or looking at doing Aquaponics at their home. Some of the items that will be covered:

the basic principles of Aquaponics,
the difference between 'Flood and Drain' and 'Continuous Flow' systems,
equipment used in home systems,
basic home system design, and
pest control in home systems. For more information and bookings.......here (http://www.aquaponics.asia/aquaponics-seminars/).

Hi,

On Saturday 28th March, Martin O'Dee (www.aquaponics.asia (http://www.aquaponics.asia/)) and myself will conduct a one day "Aquaponics at Home" seminar in Brisbane.

If you are interested in doing Aquaponics at your home then this is the seminar for you.

This program will cover the most common approaches to aquaponics....and some interesting variations on the aquaponics theme.

With just over one week to go, you'd better get your registration sorted if you're planning to go.

Martin O'Dee sold, co-designed (with Murray Hallam) and installed the first commercial aquaponics system in Australia and, in January 2009, facilitated a four day commercial aquaponics course (and a one day seminar) which featured Dr James Rakocy (arguably the leading aquaponics researcher in the world) and a formidable line up of other relevant speakers.

My book, The Urban Aquaponics Manual, has sold many hundreds of copies throughout the World ....and is the outcome of a commitment to backyard food production that spans 30 years. I've also designed aquaponics equipment and systems......but arguably my most important qualification is that I eat fish that I've produced.....on a weekly basis.

If you're thinking about starting your own backyard aquaponics system, this is the course for you.......and you'll get a 30% discount on The Urban Aquaponics Manual, too.

There isn't a better way to get started in aquaponics.

Hi,

Yesterday, Martin O'Dee and I conducted the March 2009 Aquaponics @ Home Seminar.

Limited to just six attendees, the seminar was designed to optimise interaction between the participants.....and Martin and myself.

Originally scheduled for Bowen Hills, we decided to move the course to Creek Street Micro Farm so that we could provide more of a hands on program. The size of the group and the choice of venue proved to be an excellent match.

The program consisted of a very full day of presentations and practical sessions.....and included a sumptious lunch of chicken wings, salad wraps and egg and bacon tartlets.

Each of the participants took home a gourd plant and a trellising widget as mementoes of their visit to Creek Street Micro Farm.

While the attendees gave the whole program the thumbs up, it seems that they particularly liked the Integrated Backyard Food Production twist that we designed into the course.

The January 2009 Commercial Aquaponics Courses.....and yesteday's Seminar.....and Murray's upcoming events in April make it clear that all's well in Queensland Aquaponics.

Well done Gary. Nice to read and see some photos from the course. Between yours and Murray's AP courses - there'll be a lot of practical knowledge shared from first hand experiences.

Garry,
Good to see from the Pics that your BSF lavae are starting to self harvest again, at least your Chooks seem to be enjoying them!
Did you notice, or do, anything to get them from staying in the digester compartment, or did they just start of their own accord?

Cheers IanK.
