Hi,

If you can get to Brisbane toward the end of January....

4 Day Aquaponics Course....with keynote speaker Dr James Rakocy of the renowned UVI Aquaponics program.....Tuesday 27th - Friday 30th January 2009.

If you're planning to do commercial aquaponics at any time in the future this is arguably the best investment you might ever make. For further details and bookings......here (http://www.aquaponics.asia/index.html).

.....or....

1 Day Backyard Aquaponics Seminar......featuring a good line up of speakers (including Dr Rakocy).....Saturday 31st January 2009.....just $120 per person.

You may never get another opportunity to work directly with this man - arguably the world's leading researcher in aquaponics. Your investment in this program will repay itself many times over. For more information or bookings.....here (http://www.aquaponics.asia/index.html).

If you have links with other people (or forums) who might find this information useful, I urge you to send it to them ASAP!

Gary

For the record.....While I will be attending both events, I'm making nothing out of them. I am, however, entirely supportive (and appreciative) of the efforts of the organisers in bringing Dr Rakocy to Australia.

You're right, Nick. It was supposed to be $199.00, however, Martin has offered a concession price of $120.00 for Forum members.

I should also have mentioned that to qualify for this special price, you must state that APHQ is the referrer when you complete the application form.

Well, I have booked my flights, accomm and course enrolment! Lookout Brisvegas. Hit town on Mon 26th at 9pm ish and fly out that Saturday, immediately following the one day course by Muzz and Gary. To say I am looking forward to it is an understatement.

Hi,

I've managed to secure a discount for the 4 day Course. The price for APHQ members is $1980 (currently $2530 for non-members)....a significant saving.

.....the one day course by Muzz and Gary....

While I'm sure that Murray and I will acquit ourselves admirably, you should be aware that the one-day program will also include Matt Herbert from Australian Aquaponics and Dr James Rakocy, the keynote speaker for the 4 day course that precedes the seminar. The APHQ member price of $120 is superb value for a program of this type.

There are still places available for both the Course and the backyard seminar......but don't waste any time.

I'll be posting program details for both the Course and the Seminar in the next day or so.

Hi,

We're just 11 days out from the commencement of the 4 day Aquaponics Course which is to feature Dr James Rakocy. The program features three PhD's and three published aquaponics practitioners.

Full program details can be found......here (http://www.aquaponics.asia/aquaponics-courses/).

The program details for the one day Seminar can be found.....here (http://www.aquaponics.asia/aquaponics-seminars/). At just $120 (for forum members), the Seminar represents real value and ought not be missed.

Just to clarify Gary, Martin tells me my payment for the 4 day course gets me into Saturday's seminar as well. Hope you got me on the list.Feel like a kid at christmas, can't wait.
I will be the one with 2 black eyes after a spectacular surfing wipeout down at Bell's yesterday. My kids still haven't stopped laughing.

Hello from cloudy Brisvegas. Feel like a kid off to their first day at school. Will let everyone know how things are going. I am sure there will be lots of handy hints from our course presenters.
Should be a very interesting week.

Looks great!
Unfortunately, I cannot make it this Saturday.
Any plans for a repeat short course in the future? Please be sure to post an invite on the forum well in advance.

Well, we went and had a look at a commercial setup yesterday. Guess what, it works! Commercially there are a million things to consider, sure. That just makes it the same as any other business right?
What impressed me was the simplicity of design. Like any business the operator has had issues. You find solutions and move on. I am extremely grateful to our host for sharing his knowledge.
Dr Rakocy will be in the building today. Woohoo!

Hi,

Today is the final day of the four day Aquaponics Course. It's been absolutely great with participants from as far afield as Hawaii and Malaysia.

As AussieAP suggested, the visit to a working aquaponics farm was a highight. All of the guest speakers have been great and I particularly valued the opportunity to hear from Dr James Rakocy. It's rare that you get the chance to work directly with arguably the world's leading researcher in the field of aquaponics/

There are possibly still places on tomorrow's one day seminar on backyard aquaponics.....but you'll need to be quick if you're planning to be there.

I'll post a more detailed report on the whole exercise once the seminar is completed.

The 4 day course featuring Dr James Rakocy has come to an end this afternoon.
Really great conference, very informative.
It was very interesting to see the evolution of the aquaponics facility at UVI and to see the production figures of a well run commercial aquaponics system.

Thanks to Martin O'Dee of Aquaponics-Shop for the effort in putting together a very successful event.
