No sweat Murray. I know how busy the Christmas/New Year period can be. When you're ready, let me know and thanks for all the organising of it.
Cheers

Hey Q.
So where did Aussie get it from?
I'm still waiting, so any info on sources would be greatly appreciated.
I have a friend that works for a commercial fish farm and he managed to pilfer a label from their feed stocks last week that shows a few minor additions I don't want in my feed i.e. antibiotics.!
Cheers

G'day Tony, not sure where aussieap got them from, but just PM him and I am sure he will be able to help. He can supply a crumble as well as pellets.

Hi Tony. It is the organic pellet produced by Michael Evans at Applied Nutrition in Brisbane. USDA Certified etc.
How are we going to get it to you? It is $99 per 25kg bag ex Geelong. Planning any mainland trips soon?

If there is anyone out there using organic feeds, do they purge their fish before killing? Just reading up on purging and there seems to be two general schools of thought.

1) You need a separate tank to purge for 5-7 days before killing.

2) You don't need a separate tank, just don't feed for 5-7 days.

My question is I have two tanks linked up and was wondering if I removed the fish I wish to eat from tank 1 and put them into tank 2 and not feed tank 2 for 5-7 days, will this be ok? The water from tank 1 will still flow into tank 2, but no food will get through (very very little in any case).

On the organic feed, will I still need to purge if I use organic?

None of my silvers will be ready for a while, but was just wondering.

dj, I will hunt the exact specs up next day or so, been away. The fish meal component is waste tuna wild catch by product. ie the tuna was not caught to make the pellets, the tuna waste was used as part of the diet. Herbs and minerals other goodies.

Regarding purging: my understanding is if nitrates are not super high the fish can be left in their existing water and just not fed for 5-7 days.
If u can run a separate tank, I would. Can dose up the salt to 5/10ppt and give them a really good cleanout over a week.

Excuse my brain snap last night. Had just driven 2000kms over 48 hours! A freight job to Sydney for a mate.

djs, just click on my site link and go to the store. Click the fish food/ pellet link and have a read. The food specs are there.

Hi,
I am just wondering if there is any testing for heavy metals done on the feed (organic and otherwise)?

I Managed to get hold of the Organic Fish Food guy yesterday. He was in NZ
He will be back here in Brissie sometime today or tomorrow.
He has not responded to any of my emails that I have sent him over the last several months, I suspect the published email address is not correct.

Any more news on that front Murray? :D

Cheers

Hi Darren.
Just found this.. Sorry must have missed it.
Yes I am planning a trip in a couple of weeks to come over and check out a glasshouse in Melbourne. Also was going to catch up with another AP enthusiast, Dean Cant. I could easily swing by and grab a box perhaps. Is it far to drive to Geelong from east melbourne?
Cheers
