Hi all,I am just about ready to start cycling my system as 4 of my 6 growbeds are ready to go,I am going to go with a fishless start up as i am in no real rush as i cant get any jade perch until january.I think i will give the urea a miss and rely on fish food to kick it off.My bosses father has a lot of barra in ponds at his house and i was wondering if i could use some of the water from his ponds to introduce bacteria, would this be a good or bad idea?
Bye Brett

Good idea, so long as there is no disease in his ponds.
The hatchery at Beenleigh will have Jades sooner than that I think. Aussiefish have been doing some pretty big new works around their farm which has delayed their new seasons breeding.

Throw a few goldfish in. It'll give you something to feed and watch, plus fish seem to kick off the cycling. And it will let you troubleshoot. Like my guppie eating fish safe pump.
