Ok I am getting closer to setting up my system and trying to decide on my raft material. I don't feel too confident in the "blue board" material. What about regular styrofoam "white". I am looking for the safest possible solution.

Where would the best place to get the safest styrofoam raft material here in the US?

Is wood, with supports a viable option? If so what kind of wood?

Thanks,
Wolgie

Lowes or home depot. Use the noneprecut blue board. The problemwith other insulation boards is they may contain the main chemical thats in cyonide... so be careful if u do choose to not go with the blue board.

Thanks for the response, but what is in the blue board to waterproof it? (make it the blue board and not standard white) fire retardant?

The blueboard is a denser foam. The white stuff crumbles and get's water logged. I used the pink version of the blueboard when I built my RBC's and it's holding up fine a year later. Only problem is the blue or pink board is more expensive.
