I'm going to switch over to a linear air pump for diffuser aeration above my drain as a test run for one of my RAS tanks. Wattage is much, much, lower than the agitators I use (about 40 watts vs. 172 watts! for hopefully sufficient aeration.) Also much quieter!
What are good reliable brands that I will be able to easily get parts for? I'm seeing three brands primarily on Ebay: Hakko, Alita, and Medco. The Alita has a three year warranty. I see a brand called Sweetwater in AES's catalog.
I know it may be too much to ask for but are there any made in the good ol' USA for those of us that live here? I am so tired of buying Chinese items and not supporting my own economy (no offense to the Chinese). It's seems it's impossible anymore to buy something here that is not made in China. With so many workers out of work here I'm all for free trade but our workers can't compete at the low wages they pay in China.
Thoughts? Suggestions? If I can't buy American what are the best quality imported brands?
