Ive got 2 setups like Mega bin except using 1000l IBC
Built solids lift like Gary's mega bin setup BUT, due to much deeper water, the sloping suction needs to be much steeper to match up with the middle of the tank.
At this stage I cut in 45 deg bend so first section is vertical then second half slopes 45 deg to suckeruppa plate - will this work?
Should I maintain slope and draw water from non centred spot ~ 40cm off to one side
I could try to get a 22.5 deg bend but that makes whole suction quite steep.

Hi Jet,

Getting the outlet pipe as close to the centre of the tank is a good idea.

If you can direct the inflow to your fish tank in such a way that it 'swings' your tank (creating a slow circular movement), the solids will be moved to the centre of the tank and within range of the outlet pipe.

Even if your tank doesn't do this in the normal course of operation, you can create the effect by moving a piece of PVC pipe in the water......in a circular motion. If you do this for a few revolutions, you will notice the solids starting to inch their way over toward the centre of the tank.

You can fiddle with various bends, adaptors and pipe sizes to increase the water velocity through this section of pipework so that it will grab most of the solids.

Hi Jet,

What I should have mentioned in my last post is that the 'suckeruppa' is Crusty's idea and, as such, the specifics of your situation are something that he could address more effectively than me. While I know what they do, I defer to him when it comes to actually sizing and making them.
