This is mainly for the members on the west coast of the US> I was browsing the CA Fish & Game website n found this .pdf file. It is a list of all certified fish and crustacean farms by the state of CA. There are quite a few and around 4-5 say they sell prawns.
I haven't contacted anyone yet on the list so I don;t know how good it is just thought it was a good idea to share.\

Don't be surprised if at least some of them have gone out of business. I've heard from someone from your state the regulations and proposed regulations in your state are really stifling any profitable aquaculture business in your state especially those that supply fish for stocking recreational ponds. Imagine that, a state that is virtually bankrupt and needs tax revenue badly is actually running people out of business. You can't make this stuff up.

Thanks for the list! I live in SoCal and this is extremely helpful to me. Several of the hatcheries are close by, and I think I'll take a visit.

I've reviewed this list in the past, and actually contacted several people on it. I found that many of the people on the list were "inactive", meaning they weren't actually running an operation at the time I contacted them. Simply put, they were approved, but not doing anything.
