Hi FF, I use Sikaflex on everything...It is the miracle product. Will stick almost everything, does not go hard and brittle like silicones.

Hi,
On the issue of sealants.....and any other chemical composition to be used in close proximity to a aquaponics system.....my advice would be to exercise caution.
What kills fish instantly isn't the only issue that we need to consider. Fish can accumulate toxins that may be subsequently ingested by consumers.
If in doubt.....check the Material Safety Data Sheet.

Hi Zact,
I use a clear silicon sealant made by Selleys. I believe that it's the same stuff used to fabricate glass aquariums.

Hi peoples,
It might be worth using a product called Plumb-seal made by bostik. This is a malleable product that will not eat plastic and more importantly is food grade. We sell plenty for Hydropnic systems and Rain water tanks.
