Another Practical Aquaponics For Everyone, (PAFE) Educational system was installed today. I will post some photos as soon as the school, gets some plants and fish going. The system consists of three fish tanks, grow beds, header tank and the associated pumps and pipe work, backup systems etc.
The school intends to start with Silver Perch and some yabbies.
There was very keen interest in the proceedings by many of the senior students.
Monday is a public holiday on the outskirts of Brisbane so on Tuesday we will return to site to assist in the commissioning of the system.

Wow, well done Murray.

I had seen the thread about Mt Gravatt, but I didn't know you had done others.

Look forward to the pictures. I think the introduction of aquaponics into schools is just such a logical direction.

Could I make the suggestion that (if possible) you post up pictures from all four high schools, and any future schools into a new "Aquaponics in Education" thread.

Would be a good one-stop thread for teachers or students to find and see what's available.

Hi all,
Good idea about the thread, I have connections with four schools, it would make it easier to give good informations for teachers.

Albany Creek SHS is up and running with 3 x 1000 ltr tanks and grow beds.
They are already planning to extend the system.

Yes, we do have some photos. Some schools are doing better than others, depends on the teacher.
We have just supplied another high school in Coffs Harbour and there are another 3 that have placed orders.
Aquaponics is a wonderful teaching tool.
