hi
ive got a 3000l tank with 140 trout in it (small ones), going by my water flow and the fisheries dept wa i can have 20 kg of trout at apx 18-20 degrees. What stocking rate of trout if advisable. i was hoping for about 60-80 kg when i get a little more water flow and a 1500 l per hour air pump connected to a UPS, i also will get rid of about 40 trout when they reach 100 mm.
thank

Hi WAtrout,
You haven't mentioned how many grow beds you've got hooked up to that tank......or what other bio-filtration arrangements you have in place.
If you can provide that information, we can respond to your question more effectively.

at the moment i have two grow beds connected with a third ready to be connected. all up it equals about 1 m2 of gravel so about 3 square m of surface area. later i will add more plants will more gravel beds or thin film.
my main reason for the question was to see if it is posible to get enough oxegen in the water to support 60 kg of fish.
At the moment ive got about 1500 l per hour going through the grow beds and back in the tank, i also have a little water movement pump in there a bit bigger than this one, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/vibration-pump-wave-maker-for-aquarium-tank-3000L-h-6W_W0QQitemZ390118748327QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Pet_Supplies?hash=item5ad4e3b0a7
i also have a 50 l filter tank connected to it and a couple 200 l sump tanks.
