hi I'm looking at getting some sort of water system like a De-sal or there are some out there that use electro magnets and another that uses different frequencies. My water is a little saline and it affects the plants. with Desals u have waste and the otheres say that they are changing the polarized particles, or something

Hi waterlogged,

Have you considered using a reverse osmosis unit to produce clean water for your set up? You can get modestly priced units that connect to your garden tap. While the small ones don't produce huge quantities, you can just leave them operating continuously and making clean water.

thnks garry, these systems say the use reverse osmosis with the magnets and different frequencies. do thing like that actually work?? they say that there is no signs to see on a water test, so how withpout finding out too late( dead garden) do you know if they work? our garden uses about 20,000 litres a nite in the summer.

I would be very skeptical of a magnet system for desalinating water. There was a thread about that about a year ago and the general consensus was that it was just a marketing gimmik. If magnetism truly separated out ions from water there would be no way a electromotor could work in salt water as the poles would become loaded with salts. I encourage you to do lots of research before buying it. Remember if it sounds too good to be true...

some "light reading"

IF this truly worked these guys would be trillionaires as Saudi Arabia depends on desalination to get a lot of its water.

The desal is a reverse osmosis system.
