Hi Rodolf,
Welcome! You need to make sure your pics are small in file size ie less than 1.8Mb each. You also need to resize then to be 800X600. I have struggled with this too and have found Microsoft Picture Manager/Viewer the easiest tool to edit my pics. I think its a free download from Microsoft - try googling it if you are running a Microsoft OS.
Cheers

Thanks.
I Went To The Uvi Training Last Year. I Design The System Using Uvi System As Base.
Then I Asked The Uvi Team To Comment On The Dwgs. I Incorporate Their Suggestions And Comments And Theis Is The Result.
We Hoping To Have All Ready For The End Of The Month. Starting Production First Week Of June.
It Is A Little Difficult Since I Am Working In Africa And My Brother Is The One Building The System In El Salvador.
Thank God For The Internet. It Will Be Impossible Without It.

Looks awesome and on a big scale. Be sure to keep us posted with your (brothers:p) progress Rodolfo.
What are the objectives for this system? Food production to sell, food for the local community or just a big experiment or all of the above?
What fish to you plan to stock? Are those fish tanks made from timber? How will you line the grow beds? What does UVI stand for?
Sorry about all the questions, simply interested in your initiative.

Thx Again.
As Soon I Get New Pix Will Upload Them.
Objectives:
Produce Fish And Veggies/fruits...this I Thingk Is Not A Big Problem...but The Important Is To Sell The Fish And Veggies/fruits To Make Some Money.
We Will Sell To The Local Market And Will Also Try To Get Some High End Veggies To Restaurants And Hotels.
The Idea Is To Have 3 Systems As Models Of Production And Also As A Selling Tools For The Service Of Consulting For The Construction Of Similar Systems In The Country.
At The Moment There Is No Aquaponics Project In El Salvador. Or At Least Not Know System.
Tilapia Will Be The Main Fish. We Will Try Other Species Either As A Main Stock Fish Or As A By-product (aquarium Fish, Bassa., Catfish)
Ww Will Try To Introduce Red Claw And Grow It In A System By Itself. This Is An Experiment. At The Moment There Is No Permit To Import Over Here.
The Fish Tanks Are Made Of Fiberglass, Inclusive The Hydroponic Tanks. It Was The First Option We Found In The Country.
The Next System Will Have The More Conventional Liner.
The Manufacturer Of The Tanks Added A Wood Structure As A Ring On The Main Rearing Tanks. This Add Strenght And Allow To Rool The Tanks Without Any Problem. Also We Can Stack Them On Top Of Each Other And We Have No Problem Pulling Them Apart.
The Grow Beds Are 1 Meter Apart Between Them. At The Front And Back There Is Extra Space To Process The Crops And Access For Maintenance Aqnd Operations.
The Systems Will Also Have A 80/20 Shade Cloth. Will Allow The Light To Pass Through But Will Make The Growing Area Cooler And Will Help With The Wind And Rain.
Also Will Deter Birds.
Uvi: University Of Virgin Islands
The Uvi Experimental Station In Aquaponics Is Headed By Dr James Rakocy And His Team Of Experts.
They Have An Annual Course.
Very Good And To The Point. A Lot Of Hands-on Experience And They Have Been Operating For More Than 7 Years.

Thanks for all the info Rodolfo
My question... what land area are you planning to use overall, looks to me as a minimum of one hectare.

Hello Mellowg
We have almost 10 Ha (9.78Ha to be more precise) of land.
Each system is about 50m x 20m. So 1 Ha can accomodate easily 7 systems maybe 8.
We have prepared space for 3 systems and if we copy and mirror the 3 systems we will have six systems in about a little more than 8000m2.
We are working in to make better use of the space by using adjacent spaces and also by locating the production greenhouse and future hatchery next to the AP systems.
We have also started to plant fruit trees (mango, avocado, zapote, cashew, tamarind, coconut, banana, plantain, papaya, cocoa, orange, lime, and other local species) 150 for now and 450 more in a the next couple of months also we have planted Moringa trees and Leucaena as fodder crops
Thanks for all the info Rodolfo

Hi Rodolpho
thank you for the photos, indeed it seems like a well planned system. are all the beds being planned as floating raft beds, or will there be gravel or other media growbeds as well? and the tree's you mentioned - are they part of the aquaponics system (i assume not, but had to ask..)?
looking forward to hear about your progress
regards,
Tomer (Israel)

Hello Tomer.
Thank you for your comments.
All beds are floating raft.
No the trees are planted in other part of the property, but we want to used the water from the clarifiers to water the fruit trees.
I can not access my fcebook account. My company has strict rules against it.
I do not have internet at home. I tried several times and ended disconecting, coz the cost was high and the service appauling.
